Update on Beans

The chiefs had a great weekend full of walks, fetch the toy (mostly Frank) aaaand naps (no surprise with that..).

So how's our little Beans doing??

AMAZING!

Beans is doing so well since his little visit to the vet on Thursday. We're thinking he's still a little sore, as he isn't showing much interest in his rawhide bones yet, but hopefully later this week he'll be tearin' them up.
Until then we've been giving our little chief some chicken broth ice cubes (kinda like PUPSICLES!)

Of course Beans isn't showing too much interest in them after about 30 seconds of licking...

(Fancy Feast?? :: ding ding :: )

But don't worry guys... Frank doesn't let anything go to waste. 

He's got this under control... 

Also, Frank & Beans want to give a special Happy Birthday shout out to the one and only BRINKLEY!!! Happy Birthday Brinks!!! (you may remember Brinkley as the ONLY other participant in the Dog Eyebrow Challenge...)

Beans Special Adventure

For anybody who saw on their Facebook page last night, Beans had a little "adventure" yesterday... although I don't really know if "adventure" is the right word.
Yesterday, Beans spent some time at the vet/dentist/tooth fairy's.... our poor little chief had to have some of his teeth pulled.

11 to be exact.

We found this out last month on a trip to the vet for a yearly checkup. We set the date for the "extraction"... and then I went around feeling really bad for our little guy.

So the big day arrived. I let Ben be the "bad guy" and drop Beans off in the morning...

SAFETY FIRST! Gotta wear that seatbelt! 

Poor guy had no idea what was about to happen... 

... later in the afternoon it was time to bring Beans home. When I got to the vet's place, guess who greeted me at the door.. BEEEAAANS! I was told that Beans was probably already feeling better because some of his teeth were infected and were probably causing him pain.
Beans can continue to eat all his favorite foods without a problem... AND still enjoy his favorite rawhide bone.

Frank was SO happy to see Beans strut in the door after having spent all day by himself :(

After inhaling his dinner (with a few extra kibbles compliments of Ben), Beans spent much of the night curled up in his cage (and Frank's... for some reason he likes Frank's cage better...). He did enjoy watching the Detroit Tigers SWEEP the Indians AT Cleveland though... as did Frank... OF COURSE.

We'll see how he does over the weekend and try to give an update some time next week.

Beans Birthday Recap

Beans had a pretty great birthday... check out some of his gifts!

While Beans was very patient for his gifts....

Frank was READY (whose birthday was it again.. oh right.. BEANS)...

 Beans got RIGHT to business with the rawhide bone, taking it into his cage for safety...

Yes... the bone is actually longer than Beans... 

He loves rawhide so much we figured why not get him a giant one to save a few trips to the pet store :)
Of course Frank also seized the opportunity once Beans walked away from the bone.... they're going to have to learn to share...

Happy Birthday Beans!

It's all about Beans today!!!
Today our little guy turns a whopping 6 years old!!
Here is how we celebrated last year... with ice cream!!

We took a little walk to the ice cream shop down the street and got Beans (& Frank) a little treat.

He was a little skeptical about it at first but eventually finished it up.

Clearly he doesn't have much interest in them... (they have all become favorite toys of Frank, go fig...)

We only got Beans a couple small gifts for this birthday this year that we're hoping he shows some remote interest in. Stay tuned to see!

Cat Walk Part II

Remember the cat shelter that is right by our house??

We've been by there a few times recently on some of our walks... and  a few days ago we let Beans get up close and personal with the cats in the rooms along the side of the building :)

{unfortunately we didn't get a reaction from either Beans OR the cats... :( }

Nap time for Beans

Itchy Beans

Because we had a pretty good weekend (minus a little bit of rain here and there), we spent a lot of time outside! This included several walks!!
We came back from a walk on Saturday to some freshly mowed grass. Beans must have been SO excited about it that he wanted to roll around in it...... in all he fresh glass clippings...

Sooo our little man was coooovered in grass clippings. We brushed him off and came inside where Beans decided to finish cleaning off! Here's a clip I got... crazy little guy...

Beans Adoption Anniversary

So yesterday was Beans adoption anniversary! A year ago we brought this little guy home to be a part of our family!

New Shirt Thursday!

Beans got a new shirt! Check out his polo!! It was on super clearance so we couldn't resist. Unfortunately for Frank they didn't have any in his size ... so only Beans will be styin' this shirt.

Spring Haircut

Someone got a haircut! Check out Beans' new 'do!

Beans had a date with the grommer on Friday because he was starting to look like a BEAST!

ROAR!!

 So with some 'moderate' trimming on his sides and legs, and just a liiittle trim on the top of his head and down his back he came back lookin' like a new man!

So fresh, so clean...

Lucky Frank did not have the same 'spa treatment' that lil Beans did except for a little nail/paw trim. BUT poor Frank had to go through a few hours of "wheres my best buddy?" while Beans was away...

"At this rate he might never come back ... guess I can chew on his rawhide bone then..."

Sheriff Hat Beans

I was surprised the other day to see that BEANS had an eMail from a fan! They wanted to know where Beans sheriff hat is. It's right here!!

We still occasionally put it on while doing everyday things... like eating carrots for example...
