Weekend Recap

The boys wanted to share what they did over the weekend with everyone!
First it started off with a little of this...

And then some more chillin'. Yesterday morning we were laying around and of course the boys were laying all across our laps and we came up with the following picture. Does it not look like Beans' head on top of Frank's body?  {cover up the top-right corner}

Ok maybe it's just us but we got a good laugh out of it.

Frank & Beans Go Shopping: Target

We haven't done a "Frank & Beans Go Shopping" feature lately, but after a few recent trips to Target I couldn't resist. Seems that Target is featuring DACHSHUNDS in their Valentines Day line of products...

It started off with seeing this ...

A whole Valentine's Day display ("Valentopia" ...?) with a doxie dish! I'm sure Frank & Beans would LOOVE one of these to put some of their treats in!

According to their website this is considered a "candy dish" ... I have looked for this at multiple Targets and have yet to find it in store. I know someone HAS seen one in-store but the tail was broken off :( ... AND online now it says "product no longer available" .. !!

Then I saw some mugs and cups.. check out this one! I think this would make a GREAT Valentine's Day gift for any coffee lover our there {hint hint .... HINT}

And I didn't get a picture of this but check out this crazy straw cup!! Beans would looove to sip his water out of that cup! Not sure how/if dogs can even drink out of a straw but its worth a shot.

As we continued to walk there was even more signage!

Frank: Ahh I'm floating away!!

Beans : I've got something for you, Frank!

{PAUSE: Ben & I actually debated on trying to sneak Frank into Target for a special shopping trip but considering Target is one of our favorite stores.. if we ever wanted to go back then bringing Frank in would not be a wise idea}

AND THEN we saw these guys peeking out on a top shelf...

This guy would go great in Frank's cage (with Jerome..). If only Beans wouldn't destroy it within minutes of contact we could consider one for him too.

NOW check out this gem... he's about 2-3x the size of Frank & Beans!! 

(special shout-out to my model/husband here...)

Let me replay the dialogue that was taking place at this moment : 

A: Oh! Hold the toy up so I can take a picture!!

B: Are you serious? This isn't for the blog is it? 

A: Nooo no no no no! I just want to get a picture cause this is so cool!

B: Uh.. yeah ... 

A: Can you imagine Frank & Beans dragging this around the house? 

B: No, and that's why we're not getting it

I had a friend who suggested we get this to put a the base of a door to block the cold winter draft. That could totally justify purchasing this right? ;) Stay tuned...

Beans told me that he'd like to get a picture frame like this so he can put a picture of Frank in it.
(I reminded him that he gets to hang out with Frank pretty much 24/7)

AAAND that's all. There's a few other dachshund things at Target as well but I think I've provided everyone with enough ... 
SO .. if anybody would like to get me OR the dogs any of the above gifts that would be AWESOME! May I provide a gift wrapping suggestion? :)

Wine Dog Wednesday

The other night when we had friends over for the Super Bowl, Frank was VERY interested in our selection of wines... He was quite insistent on checking out all the different wines we had in stock...

"I'm looking for a nice full-bodied red...."

It took us a while to figure out that a pepperoni had fallen and somehow ended up inside our wine cabinet and Frank was DETERMINED to get it.
Although... we DO know that Frank tends to be a wine-o ... considering we got this picture of him about a year ago ...

"All gone? Already?"

Frankly Speaking

We received a letter from my friend Quattro from Deeeeetroiitttttt.  Quattro writes "Dear Frank, what is your favorite part about Mardi Gras?".

Before I answer your question I just want to say that I can't believe Bean's pulled it off!!  You may have seen the part of the Super Bowl after the big half time show with Beyonce when the lights went out!

Well,....Bean's had a stunt double stand in for yesterday's post and was actually in the Big Easy to watch the Bengals in the Super Bowl (we have a lot of free time during the day so just for fun I told him the Bengals were in the big game - since he doesn't know how to turn on the TV he didn't know any different).

Anyway, who knew he would hitchhike down south to see the Bengals in person!?  Bean's was already annoyed that the Bengal's weren't actually in the Super Bowl; when he saw Destiny's Child go reunite for the halftime show that was the end of it (he can't stand their song Survivor!).  Don't tell anyone but Bean's pulled the plug on the Super Dome!

Just look at this picture!  He is up to no good!

Anyway, now that I have that confession off of my chest let's talk about Mardi Gras.  The answer to your question is an easy one!  It's the King Cake!  I can't get enough of that tasty treat - although sometimes I find this weird baby doll - how does that get there anyway?

Puppy Bowl!!

So as you all know (?), yesterday was a big day in sports.. because the PUPPY BOWL was on!!!

(oh yeh.. and the Super Bowl was on too... forgot about that one...)

Frank & Beans have been looking forward to watching this for a while and couldn't wait for me to turn it on for them yesterday afternoon. They were very patient while we got the TV all set up ...

"Can I please have some of that chili you're making? And maybe one of the
Hudy Ambers I saw you bring home from the store earlier??"

... but once the game was on the boys were all focused... 

Beans immediately found his favorite puppy to cheer on ... Marta the Schnauzer/Beagle mix

Little Man couldn't take his eyes off of her...he was in love...

Groundhog Day

In honor of Groundhog day tomorrow, we here at The Daily Frank & Beans decided to post about.. groundhogs!
What do groundhogs have to do with Frank & Beans? you ask? Well... plenty!
Remember this sexy lady...

As you can tell, she's not that sexy anymore This is Frank's girlfriend who has been very well loved.

For Christmas we got Frank a new friend.. not sure if its really a girl (pet store didn't have any with pink nails or pretty eyelashes :( bummer ...), so we are calling it his buddy/partner/companion.
Everyone, meet Jerome

 Frank got Jerome as a Christmas gift and right away took him to his cage to bond 

Why the name Jerome? We. have. no. clue... but thats what it is, so when we refer to Jerome, you know we'll be talkin' about this fella' 

Jerome takes residence in Franks cage which is always locked up, because when it's not, this happens...

Let's just say that Beans is a little too rough with stuffed critters, and if we leave him alone with them, they will be ripped apart with stuffing on the floor within 5 minutes. 

SO.... since Jerome is quite groundhog looking(-ish?) we have decided to feature him on this fabulous Friday and ask the question ... will Jerome see his shadow come Saturday morning? Leave a comment on Frank & Beans Facebook page with your vote!
