Tupper-Wednesday

No real theme to today's post ... just a few random recent pictures :)

Last week we went to the pet store (unfortunately sans Frank & Beans) and met Tupper! Tupper is a super cute (and super loud) corgi who was visiting the pet store with his owner. Unfortunately Tupper did NOT want to sit still for a picture...
He's right on Frank & Beans level!
"Ahh-oohhhhhh!"

To make up for the lack of quality pictures of Tupper ( :( ...) I found this cutie of Frank & Beans doin what they do best... lay around and be bums!! Although in these pics, Frank looks like a little protector of Beans...
"Don't you worry Beans, we're gonna be best friends forever!"
"Hey there ... you got a snack for me?"

Frankly Speaking

Brinkley the Black Lab from the West side writes in this week, "I'm recovering from getting some 'work' done and am in need of some entertainment.  It feels like something is missing so I'm hoping you can help me fill my time while I recover."

Dear Brinkley, I'm am so glad you asked!  I think this is the right time for me to share my top 3 favorite YouTube video's.  Here goes.

#1: Rusty the Narcoleptic Dachshund: This little guy can't seem to stay awake; poor guy!

#2: Kitten Massage Therapy: Silly cats - dogs would never do something crazy like this!

And here is my most favorite right now of all,......looks alot like my friend Spaz the Yorkie.  Drumroll please - Katie put down your Mountain Dew - I give you #3: Harlem Shake Dog Party.

Hope that helps Brinkley!

Early Dinner Shack

So over the weekend the boys misbehaved (it had been a while so I guess it was about time...)...
I was in the backyard cleaning up a few things and came inside to find a bag of dog food laying on the floor... opened. The boys had gotten the dog food bag from a shelf in the pantry and dragged it into the living room where they helped themselves to an early dinner.
Needless to say that was the only thing they ate all night because I'm not sure how much they had... It wasn't too much but was probably more than we measure them each night..
I was so upset at them that I didn't even get a picture of the crime scene before I cleaned it up. Beans didn't look like he was feeling too great afterwards though ...
Frank doesn't look like he's feeling too hot either...
Yesterday they were back to their normal selves, although disappointed to see that the dog food bag had been relocated...

Dachshund vs. Penguin

"Dachshund vs. Penguin" .. if that title didn't get you wondering... :)

Frank & Beans have a Happy Friday video to share with everyone today  ... titled... "Dachshund vs. Penguin" !
The doxie reminds me of Frank... except I think Frank is a bit bigger than this little guy.
I might need to look for a penguin toy like this for the boys to have.... although I don't think it would last long...

Enjoy... Have a good weekend!

Flashback! Beans comes home

I was looking through pictures from last year and came across these pics... this is from the day we brought Beans home.. isn't he just so cute???
Look at that smile! He knows he's comin' home to a great place.

And then he meets Frank and isn't so sure (things changed quickly... now they're best buddies!)
He looks like Alfalfa from Little Rascals in this picture with the little piece of hair sticking up in the back... HA!

One more day til Friday -- hang in there!

Valentine's Day Card update

So remember those cards Frank & Beans got for Valentine's Day?
The ones they had little-to-no interest in after we gave them?
They're almost devoured!
Frank & Beans can't get enough of there cards... they chew on them any chance they can get!
"Gotta hold it steady between my paws..."
Look how loved they are...
While he may look all calm and collected ... this picture took Beans (and us) a lot of patience...

Beans' card is almost all chewed down... so his will get taken away soon but I think we'll get some more for these guys to enjoy.

For those who are wondering , these cards are from Crunchkins. Crunchkins has tons of different cards for tons of occasions AND many breeds of dogs! Check it out!!

Frankly Speaking

I had a few fans ask me where I was yesterday since we didn't put a post up... I was celebrating President's Day of course!  My favorite president is President Palmer on the TV show 24, which my parents are constantly watching on Netflix.  Regarding real life Presidents everyone can name their favorite.  While you were enjoying your time off; Bean's and I were discussing our favorite Presidential four legged friends.  Today's pics and content comes courtesy of The DogGuide.net

OK - Here we go!

Herbert Hoover had an ex-police dog German Shepard named King Tut!  Viva Deutschland!

 Like me FDR's Scottie Dog, Fala, enjoyed a nice ride in the car!

Lastly, there was JFK's, short haired dachshund, Dunker!  Way before he was president the most famous Kennedy had a little short legged guy.  That must be why he was so popular with the ladies!

Hope you had a good day off!

Spring Training!

We've been waiting a long time for this... it's Spring Training!
Frank & Beans were so pumped about the start up of the baseball season that they went down to Lakeland, Florida to check out the Tigers in action!
Some how they were able to catch a flight RedBird III, the Tigers official plane!!
"Ok! We're here!! Where's my luggage?? Beans,
I hope you didn't forget the sunscreen!"
There was even a welcoming committee waiting for them at Joker Merchant Stadium where the Tigers play.
When it came time to get started the boys couldn't help but run to the front of the group and lead the Detroit Tigers out onto the field!
"Go Tigers, Go!'
Frank even got to take part in a discussion between the Skipper, Jim Leyland and pitcher Justin Verlander about his strategy for this coming season (the terms "perfect game' and "no-hitter" were mentioned quite frequently according to Frank)...
We'll have to have Frank & Beans report back with how Spring Training is going in another week or so... for now.. enjoy your Friday!

Valentine's Day

It's Valentine's Day... and we had a little photoshoot! Frank & Beans even dressed up for the pictures in their bow ties... how fancy!
After a few pictures Frank got a liiiittle bored...
 until we busted out these guys...!! {Frank's girlfriend & Jerome!!}
When we put them down Beans went RIGHT for Jerome. Frank was pretty good about sitting all nice and pretty... (although very focused on the safety of Jerome)
...and there was a lot of patience from Beans in this one (there was a lot of "Leave it!" and "No!"s being said in this shot... and you can just see the excitement building up in Beans...

For Valentine's Day we got the boys a little gift... edible rawhide Valentine's Day cards!!
I can't tell you how excited I was to give the boys these cards.. SO excited!
So what did the boys do when we gave them their cards??
 Nothing.... just sniff 'em ....
 After a few minute Frank started to chew at one... Guess we'll see what happens over the next few days...
Have a great Thursday, everyone!

Hans So Low

 He's back!! Beans has another funny, submitted by a friend who is near and dear to his little heart...
Funny thing is... I google-imaged this ("hans so low + dachshund") and it brought up a TON of pictures of dachshunds.. as in-I'm sure this is a popular name for dachshunds! (we still think Frank & Beans are the best!)
Have a great day!

Frankly Speaking

This week I decided to do things a little differently - normally I take questions then answer then to the best of my wit and intellect ;), no Q&A this week.  In honor of Valentine's Day we have a very special Frankly Speaking.  Since Bean's and I don't have girlfriends (or even really know what that means) we plan to celebrate our Bromance.

Bean's and I met last May when he randomly showed up at my house and never left!  I found out later he used to hang out at Iam's with dogs of all sizes and colors!  Now that he is here we spend ALOT of time together.  Mostly we just sleep and go on crumb-hunting adventures.

In response to Bean's habit of barking for fun VERY early in the morning on the weekend; our parents will let us out then put on the radio and go back to bed.  The radio does seem to help Bean relax!  All of this radio time has got me thinking about the song that best describes my friendship with our buddy Bean's.  Here you go, you may know this one!  I have a soft spot for the little guy - probably partly due to his general awkwardness!

As someone on YouTube commented "Just when you thought this song couldn't bet any better you found out they put Ninja's in the Music Video (1:15)."  I totally agree!  Cheers Mr Bean!

I was very happy to find out from Bean that he picked a song that reminded him of me.  Since he doesn't know the password to Ben's Mac (I do of course!) I'm writing on his behalf.  I knew the man had class when I met him (just look at that hair!) but I confirmed it when he shared with me the song that best reminds him of me!

Like Bean's - Freddie Mercury has killer locks!  I could never figure out the perm thing - oh well!

Happy Valentine's Day - now someone bring me some chocolate before I get grumpy!

Weekend Recap

The boys wanted to share what they did over the weekend with everyone!
First it started off with a little of this...
Peek a Booo!
Dachshund Love <3 :)
Followed by some walks!
"Hi!!!! You got a treat for me?"
{they've got that wind-blown look going on with their ears... love!}
 "SQUIRREL!!!"
And then some more chillin'. Yesterday morning we were laying around and of course the boys were laying all across our laps and we came up with the following picture. Does it not look like Beans' head on top of Frank's body?  {cover up the top-right corner}
Ok maybe it's just us but we got a good laugh out of it.
Happy Monday everybody!

Dubstep Friday

It's Friday and nobody could be more excited than RUDY!! Check out a friend of his named Harvey who can drop some sweet beats ...

{for those who are not familiar the beat of the song he's singing is from the Skrillex song Bangarang... you'll catch the beat within the first minute or so}

So while you're out this weekend don't forget to put on a good beat!!!

Frank & Beans Go Shopping: Target

We haven't done a "Frank & Beans Go Shopping" feature lately, but after a few recent trips to Target I couldn't resist. Seems that Target is featuring DACHSHUNDS in their Valentines Day line of products...

It started off with seeing this ...
A whole Valentine's Day display ("Valentopia" ...?) with a doxie dish! I'm sure Frank & Beans would LOOVE one of these to put some of their treats in!

According to their website this is considered a "candy dish" ... I have looked for this at multiple Targets and have yet to find it in store. I know someone HAS seen one in-store but the tail was broken off :( ... AND online now it says "product no longer available" .. !!

Then I saw some mugs and cups.. check out this one! I think this would make a GREAT Valentine's Day gift for any coffee lover our there {hint hint .... HINT}

And I didn't get a picture of this but check out this crazy straw cup!! Beans would looove to sip his water out of that cup! Not sure how/if dogs can even drink out of a straw but its worth a shot.

As we continued to walk there was even more signage!
Frank: Ahh I'm floating away!!
Beans : I've got something for you, Frank!

{PAUSE: Ben & I actually debated on trying to sneak Frank into Target for a special shopping trip but considering Target is one of our favorite stores.. if we ever wanted to go back then bringing Frank in would not be a wise idea}

AND THEN we saw these guys peeking out on a top shelf...
 {aaand more doxie signage in the top corner... }
This guy would go great in Frank's cage (with Jerome..). If only Beans wouldn't destroy it within minutes of contact we could consider one for him too.

NOW check out this gem... he's about 2-3x the size of Frank & Beans!!
(special shout-out to my model/husband here...)
Let me replay the dialogue that was taking place at this moment :
A: Oh! Hold the toy up so I can take a picture!!
B: Are you serious? This isn't for the blog is it?
A: Nooo no no no no! I just want to get a picture cause this is so cool!
B: Uh.. yeah ...
A: Can you imagine Frank & Beans dragging this around the house?
B: No, and that's why we're not getting it
I had a friend who suggested we get this to put a the base of a door to block the cold winter draft. That could totally justify purchasing this right? ;) Stay tuned...

Beans told me that he'd like to get a picture frame like this so he can put a picture of Frank in it.
(I reminded him that he gets to hang out with Frank pretty much 24/7)

AAAND that's all. There's a few other dachshund things at Target as well but I think I've provided everyone with enough ...
SO .. if anybody would like to get me OR the dogs any of the above gifts that would be AWESOME! May I provide a gift wrapping suggestion? :)
